JIN, a.k.a. Jeanie Inglis, is a professional visual artist based out of Orlando, Florida. She utilizes a wide variety of mediums, often in a single piece, to create her artworks. Her subject matters and styles are also widely varied, as are the sizes of her works. Her main goal is to evoke immediate emotion from the viewer.
Born as Lim Jin Hee in Seoul, Korea, Jeanie Inglis came to the United States just in time to start first grade. Because she did not speak any English at the time, she expressed myself using crayons, watercolors and pencils. The youngest of 5 children, she was raised in a predominantly Caucasian family in a small agricultural town in the Pacific Northwest. As an adult, she has lived in Seattle, Chicago, Nayarit (Mexico) and Orlando. Her artworks are influenced by her experiences as a Korean adoptee, mother, wife, and her love for epic road trips, international travel, animals, hiking and cooking.
In a former life, Jin was a trained classical pianist, and worked in wineries for many years. She is a self-taught artist, and does not follow any set of preconceived rules nor techniques.
Jin spends about half of her studio time creating custom commissioned artworks for clients and the other half dedicated to uncovering and expressing memories lurking in the deep recesses of her mind.
